Morini Riders Club UK Day Saturday 14th June 08

We were very lucky with the weather, it was much better than forecast, As a result Morini- minded people were coming and going throughout the day. A couple of sales resulted .which was a real bonus as the day was conceived as a very pleasant way of socialising, which was also achieved

Donington Park Race Circuit BSB round May 08

Race rider Chris Burns with our latest model 1078Our 1078RR & Brutale inside STP's posh awning

We attended with our MV road bikes to support the STP Team racing MV Agusta 312, Rider Chris Burns qualified well in Pos 12 , but was bitterly disappointed with DNF in the race due to failure of the only non standard part on the bike, an experimental electrical system.

Strada to Sport-Plus look .Completed Feb 08

This was a tatty , sad old Strada before we started [wish we had taken a "before"photo]. The owners  instructions were--build up a front wheel using our own 4 leading shoe double drum front brake, fit rearsets, and this shows the first of our swan neck kick start top levers, rearset pedal conversion, stainless steel exhaust, new stainless mudguards, paintwork,  and  lots of internal stuff you cannot see .

Shane Byrne [Shakey] and his MV 312. Cadwell Circuit 25 August 07

Shane took delivery of this new M V Agusta F4 1000 312

at Cadwell .This is the second MV he has bought from us. [ Thank you Shane] We added a few tasteful carbon fibre parts before delivery. Clearly a man of good taste and discrimination.

September 07 Galletto to hand-change

This was an interesting little engineering challenge .A new customer from Huddersfield wanted to stay with his first love-- Moto Guzzi--but having lost a leg made it difficult. He came to look at our Moto Guzzi Galletto 200 E/Start. liked what he saw , and agreed to buy if we would engineer a hand-change. We made the whole thing in stainless steel and aluminium, with a suitable knob off a Massey Ferguson, bushed pivots and proper rose joints-- you could say we got a bit carried away to make a quality job. We made the job more difficult for ourselves by insisting that the conversion must be reversible without trace

Success.

Phoenix Endurance Team win at Snetterton. Bank Hol 25/6/7 August 07

Chris sneaked off work for a long weekend to ride with the Team Phoenix for the big 8hr Endurance Race. He was invited as one of their regular riders was temporarily not available doing the Manx. They won their class [Super Stock 600] by 9 seconds. and even came 5th overall, beating a lot of 1000s and SuperSport bikes in the process. As a result , the Team now leads the Championship. The sun truly shone all weekend.

August 16th 2007 M V O C Track Day, Cadwell Park

We were welcomed by the Club to display our latest MV Brutale 910R, and F4 1000 312. There was a mind boggling display of beautiful MV, both old and new, street and track. They were not just on display though, they were being used as designed , with huge enthusiasm ..A great day  enjoyed by all.,

August 06 2007 Snetterton Track Day

Chris and I [Stuart] have never had the opportunity to learn our way round the Circuit, but the chance occurred on a genuine Factory built Yam R71, too good to miss, especially as Chris has been invited to join a Team in an 8 hour Endurance Race soon. He thought it would help to know which way to go

July 14 &15 2007 Festival 1000 Bikes Mallory Park and Oulton Park Round

At Oulton the new Super Stock  MV 312 was under Chris Burns of  GP fame , for the first time. We were all hoping for great things , but rain stopped play after 3 laps and the Race was deferred to Donno---- we shall see !

"Shakey"  rode our road MV 312 into town, and loved it, he later went out in his Race and came 2nd... Riding our MV seems to inspire him. The similar thing has happened previously.

At Mallory , the weather was great on Saturday, but did its' best to spoil things on Sunday. It completely failed to spoil anything however , and a great time was enjoyed by a huge crowd on both days .The Morini Riders Club had a good display in a nice position, our Corsaro Veloce, a Corsaro Sport and early 2 stroke Morini added to the range of Morini on display. The Club had a really professional looking display until the wind and rain tried to blow it away, so the photos here show only the remnant after the storms .The Pits were full of past Masters, current Masters and some mouth watering bikes.. There were Vintage and Veteran bikes, Trials bikes, Sprint bikes, tarmac racers with 2 and 3 wheels, Grass Trackers,  Pierro Laverda brought over quite a few orange bikes ,to join the many other from Breganze and completed many swift laps on his V6. A fabulous diversity of bikes on display, and many more actually in use.

The TT-Our MV 312 at the Isle of Man June 2007

MV 312 are not only the fastest Production bike in the World, they also make totally reliable tourers., notice our fully laden demo bike on the way up, and lounging at various Island highspots--Creg ny Baa, Tynwald Hill Inn, and Point of Aire. There is a German Brutale in there next to our 312 as well. What a great week.

More "Shakey" 20 05 07 Snetterton

When Shakey saw our van with his new Brutale coming into the pits , he was out of his Motorhome and into the back of our van almost before it had stopped moving. We really appreciated his sincere enthusiasm. He then went straight out on his race bike and set pole time, which left us wondering if the rest of the field would do better if they owned MV as well -just give us a ring !

Photo 1&2  Shakey and his Dad, before we even got the bike out of the van for him Photo 3,4&5 The "formal" poses, the right one includes our MV salesman, Chris

The classic "before and afters"-- love them

Melton Mowbray 29 06 07

A nice new little gathering in the Town Square. We willingly lent our support especially as this meet had an Italian flavour, The local Italian Cafe' kindly stayed open, and did a roaring trade .Our MV Agusta 312, Brutale 910, Corsaro, and Aprilia Nera can be seen in the melee, which included a super collection of 2. 3 and 4 wheelers. A good one.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ashby Folville 12 06 07

What a great "do". We took our M Morini Corsaro, the MV F41000R 312, and a Brutale. The sun shone. A huge crowd, and some proper rare m/cs..Brilliant

Ashby Folville "Petrol head" meet 08 05 07

We had a great little ride out on our Demo Morini Corsaro and MV Agusta 312R to this meet, you can just see them in the first photo. We were well pleased to have so many people interested in them during the evening. The gathering. is every 2nd Tuesday of the month, and well worth a visit. Simply hundreds of collectors vehicles with 2, 3, 4 and 6 wheels congregate just for the sheer pleasure of it. ,every sort of bike imaginable, from every period and Country. Just to show we have no bias against our 4 wheel cousins .there is a small selection shown .Yes, that really is a T35 Bugatti on the end.

MGOC [Moto Guzzi Owners Club], visit  05 05 07

With their normal flair and efficiency the MGOC organised a ride out to visit NLM. We were delighted to greet them. The bikes came in batches , thoughtfully avoiding the possibility of bringing the village to a halt, it all made a great spectacle The sun shone, we offered a sight of some rare machines, including an MGS01,a Guzzi engined Triking,  a Lodola, a Stornello, and an Airone Sport, in addition to our normal stock of slightly less rare Guzzi twins

Bikes for a Blessing [May 07]

We  went to a  lovely old Church in Burton on Trent, and rode straight in! . We were supporting Rev Paul Sinclair, well known for his team of Sidecar Hearses,[ centre photo], and also a loyal customer in our Workshop .On this occasion Paul was leading a Service for living  M/Cyclists which was televised for a forthcoming  series about Eccentrics with Robbie Coltrane. A local Band and some hot snacks were all laid on; for us, it was an unusual , nice "do".[ Thanks to Ollie Hurst , one of our Technicians, for the photos--- it's amazing what can be done with a phone these days]]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Shakey"

We were at Silverstone Race Circuit [ April 28/29 2007] for the BSB round, and to show off our new MV Agusta.  If you were there you might have seen our distinctive van, a 312, and a Brutale 910. If you were not there you missed a great day, and you did not see "Shakey" on our MV , deciding this should be his next road bike.

These 3 photos above were taken and kindly provided by Shakey's girlfriend, Petra -------Photo 1, the man himself. Photo 2 with Chris , our MV Salesman  .Photo 3 add in Victor Cox , intrepid  pilot of MV 312 Racer for the STP Team

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were at Oulton Park for May 6th and 7th too.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-May 07- As good as his word, Shakey  ordered his new MV Brutale R, and we delivered it to Snetterton for him. This is it.

01 04 07 There is an unsubstantiated rumour that St Andrews want to borrow this photo to use in their publicity to help attract the "right kind" of applicants for  Membership. It was kindly sent in by the Settebello's proud new owner , Alan Hay, after he rode there for a par round  .Alan also regularly uses a Morini 250 2C, which we were proud to supply in addition to his Settebello 250 GT

Workshop Special one-off exhausts built 02 07
This is a fascinating one. Built for a M Morini Dart 350 with a 501 motor. Gas- flow theories and design based on our own extremely quick Sport 501. Not made easier by having special under-seat one-off silencers and being all within original bodywork. A real challenge to build----great fun. Photo shows the system in  build, before being "prettyfied"

Built for a local owners' immaculate Bandit. Inspired by the fantastic Vyrus with front exit. Looks and sounds superb.

2007 August Another very special one off pipe set built for a Morini 501/350 Valentini.

The Double drum 350 Morini which NLM prepared for Rider Dave Currie shown "somewhere in the Dolomites" during the course of the 2003 Giro D' Italia. The bike completed the course without problem and Dave enjoyed every minute of  this, his first outing. He is now completely hooked on both the Giro and Moto Morini

chant.jpg (25589 bytes)

We have taken a liking to the rather good V twin that preceded our Morini and are proud to have our name quite noticeably on Chris Chant's splendid Vincent outfit seen here at Mallory park Oct 2002.  No less than Phil Irving of Vincent fame, said that he believed Moto Morini to be the "design of the future". Who are we to argue?
